Congressman Bill Huizenga was late to get on board the "Trump Train," refusing to endorse the Republican nominee until October. Once he was on board though, Huizenga was widely praised for his enthusiasm and support, appearing at multiple Trump/Pence rallies and doing dozens of media appearances defending Trump.

After President Trump took office, he even signed one of Huizenga's bills.

In the last couple of weeks though, Huizenga has turned against President Trump, trashing him over his speaking style, as well as Charlottesville.

Speaking to the Grand Haven Chamber Of Commerce, Huizenga said Trump needs to change his tone.

According to the Grand Haven Tribune:

"Huizenga said he doesn’t like the tone President Donald Trump takes at times and sees it as “unhelpful.” He said it’s “New Jersey-New York moxie” that comes out, and that doesn’t fit with West Michigan residents."

However, it was a Facebook statement posted Tuesday night that was particularly disappointing.

"Today, President Trump had the opportunity to clearly refute the ideology spread by groups such as the KKK and White Supremacists and failed to do so. This shouldn't be a tough decision. If an ideology promotes hate and targets individuals because of their race, religion, or gender it should be refuted.

Congressman Huizenga must have missed President Trump repeatedly refute the hate groups from the rally...

"Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans," Trump said. "We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America."

Denouncing hate groups is nothing new for the President, he has done it repeatedly over the years.

  1. Way too much use of the word "hate". It is losing it's meaning. Does someone who doesn't agree wih you 99% qualify as a "hater"? News media editorials in most of their articles with adjectives that in effect accuse anyone on the right as a hater. Spin every event to their predjudice. Even the conservatives all too often.

  2. I am so happy to see and hear our President reject the left's putting all the blame on the "alt-right" for the riot in Charlottsville. Political ass kissing correctness that can somehow correct our history by removing or destr oying statues is pretending to the Nth degree. Labeling all people who protest the removal of a statue of Robt E Lee as haters encourages the left to battle those "haters. And Soros pays thugs to show up and attack while the inept police do ?? News should be about the removal but NO. Agenda convert it to attack anyone conservative. Tired of the "Holier than thou"

  3. Well, it looks as if Bill Huizenga is one of those despicable politicians who wets his finger, sticks it up in the air to see which way he thinks the political wind is blowing for his one and only important utmost advantage.
In other words ... when the wind blows on and around Congressman Bill Huizenga the air takes on a very obnoxious and sickening smell.

  5. Bill Huizenga, Do you not understand the mandate that was delivered last November? You, sir, need to get on-board or face a primary challenge for your next election. We are sooooo tired of the PC BS that has dominated everything since Obama was elected in 2008. Let's get back to loving our state and country for what it is and always will be. Racism is a way to much over played card. It's time to reject all of this Saul Alinsky tactics.

  6. Trump "refuted" racist groups through gritted teeth, reading words off a teleprompter. And then took it all back at his next press conference. Trump's come out of the closet as a racist. Will his supporters have the courage to do the same?

    Don't hold your breath...
